Joel Branum is the managing partner of Brookline Capital. Joel has been serving the private equity and strategic advisory needs of middle market companies for more than 20 years. His experience covers a wide range of industries including healthcare services, manufacturing, automotive aftermarket, pharmacy, software/technology, insurance, outsourced human resources, consumer products, moving and storage, media and publishing, transportation, aggregates, food and beverage, and education. Joel is a native of Dallas, Texas, and holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Alabama.
Heath Buckner is a partner of Brookline Capital. Heath has extensive experience as an advisor, investor, and executive across a diversity of industries, including industrial packaging, transportation, heavy manufacturing, real estate, coal mining, automotive, real estate, and other sectors as well as serving on the advisory boards of various philanthropic and closely-held businesses in the Southeastern United States. Heath began his career in the Assurance and Business Advisory group at Ernst & Young, LLP. Heath holds a BS in Economics from Auburn University and an MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia.
Hardie Carlson is a vice president with Brookline Capital. Hardie has spent his entire career working with middle market companies. He has extensive experience on both the buy side and sell side across a wide range of industries and deal structures. Hardie began his career in investment banking at a boutique sell side advisory firm and most recently completed a five-year stint on the private investment side of one of the largest privately held companies in the Southeastern US. During his tenure there, the group completed more than a dozen acquisitions representing over $500 million in equity capital across a wide range of industries including information services, outdoor products, specialty distribution, risk management, niche manufacturing and business services. Hardie is a Birmingham native and holds a BS in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA.
David Gibert is a senior associate with Brookline Capital serving the transaction services and private capital needs of middle market companies. Prior to joining Brookline, David held positions in restructuring advisory where he gained experience in financial modeling and operational analysis. Over the course of his career, David has worked for PwCís Public Sector Practice in Washington DC, Capstone Advisory Group (now Berkeley Research Group), and Alvarez and Marsal in New York City. David has a broad range of industry knowledge, including oil and gas, retail, construction materials, and healthcare. He holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from Washington and Lee University and a Masterís degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.
Wayne is a strategic advisor and consultant for Brookline's efforts on behalf of middle market companies in the healthcare industry. His key focus areas include healthcare providers, technology enabled healthcare services, employee benefits, and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). Wayne is also an executive in the insurance industry serving self-funded employer groups on the benefits side of the industry. Wayne is an expert on the Affordable Care Act and is often speaks at industry events on the subject.
